NCN Men’s Ministries

NCN Men’s Ministries is dedicated to providing service and resources to the many programs for men of all ages in local Assemblies of God churches throughout our district.

Whether it is through Light For The Lost, our annual District Men’s Convention, Softball Tournaments, Bass and Baja Fishing events, or one of many other events and programs, our goal is to see men led into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and enabled to follow the principles of His Word in a more effective manner.

Light For The Lost

Light For The LostLight for the Lost is that part of HonorBound Men’s Ministries that has been instrumental in raising funds for evangelism literature and Bibles since 1953.  The cause remains the same in 2008 only the opportunities are boundless.  Light for the Lost empowers men to provide God’s Word for every person on the planet.

There are many ways men can be involved in Light for the Lost.

Literature
Close to half of the world’s population has never rejected or accepted Jesus because they have never had an adequate presentation of Christianity.  The denial of truth and the loneliness of today’s culture cry out for the love of God in millions of aching hearts.  Evangelistic multimedia is one of the best tools for spreading the news that Jesus Christ is the One who gives eternal life.

  • People all over the world hear about Christ for the first time through evangelism multimedia resources.
  • Literature and multimedia resources go where the people are.
  • Literature and resources do not need a visa or a passport.
  • Literature and multimedia cross cultural barriers.

Light for the Lost Councilmen
Councilmen are Christian laymen and ministers who seize the present opportunities for missions.  There are thousands of Councilmen nationwide.  Councilmen cover the operational expenses through monthly contributions to Light for the Lost enabling 100 percent of all project money to go directly to evangelism literature and media resources.  The mission of Light for the Lost funding is to provide God’s Word for every person on the planet.  As Councilmen observe today’s global cultural environment, we find ample opportunities for successful witness that hadn’t been present in earlier, modernist culture.

  • Councilmen receive a Light for the Lost torch pin and membership card.
  • Councilmen earn recognition through the Gold Key Award Program.
  • Councilmen are the key to the Light for the Lost banquet program.
  • Councilmen share Light for the Lost in neighboring churches.
  • Councilmen receive the Spotlight newsletter monthly.

Light For The Lost: One MessageThroughout the Assemblies of God Northern California and Nevada District, there are many ways to raise funds for Light for the Lost.  Any church or men’s group can raise funds any time during the year.  LFTL church services, missions conventions, men’s ministries events, and estate planning are just a few examples.

We’ll work with you to help make it happen!  Contact the NCN HonorBound office via .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or via phone at 916.379.9600.  We look forward to partnering with you for the sake of reaching the lost.

HonorBound

HonorBound Men’s Ministries is the Assemblies of God national ministry to men. The goal of HonorBound is to grow godly men through the Holy Spirit. To us, to be godly men is to be faithful husbands, loving fathers, supporters of our pastors, men of compassion, and effective servants of Jesus. Our goal will be accomplished through the ongoing teaching and submission to four basic principles:

  • we are to honor God with our lives (John 5:23)
  • we are to honor our families (Matthew 15:4)
  • we are to honor those in need (1 Timothy 5:3)
  • we are to honor those in authority over us (1 Peter 2:17)

By following these principles, HonorBound men will be men of honor in Christ, baptized in the Holy Spirit, engaged in evangelism, and living a lifetime of discipleship while supporting the local church.

The ultimate purpose of HonorBound is to see lives changed. The HonorBound training material states it well:

“There have been various ways of expressing what men’s ministry is supposed to be, but we’ve come to the conclusion that the real proof of viable men’s ministries is whether or not a man is a godly man in every sense of the word. We see the role of HonorBound in the local church as assisting in the development of the spiritual discipling of men. We also believe that this is only possible through the power of the Holy spirit as he moves and acts in the heart of each individual man. When we accomplish our mission, our vision will also be accomplished. We will be able to look at the men of the church and say that they are truly different. They are men of honor, standing taller and straighter, more accountable, and more responsible than other men. This is possible because they’ve been empowered by the Holy Spirit. Their lives will be characterized by their concern for lost souls. There will never be a time in their life where they will feel they’ve attained all they can attain in Christ, so they will be actively engaged in a lifetime discipleship process. Also, they will be men who truly understand that the God-given institution of the local church requires their loyalty and support.”

We believe this can happen and we’ve seen the work begin! If you would like to join with us and want to find an HonorBound Men’s Ministries program in your area, please contact your local Assemblies of God church or send email to the .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
