Pastor Robert Douglas assumed the new position of Director of Pastoral Care and Leadership Development on September 1, 2007.  This new ministry position is part of the Superintendent’s Vision 10. 

Pastor Robert has spent the last seven years pioneering New Horizons Christian Church in Las Vegas.  Prior to this he served on staff at ICLV in Las Vegas, a church he pioneered and pastored for over five years.  He has also served as senior pastor in Turlock, taught at Bethany, and worked at the General Council headquarters.  Robert and Fanita have been married for twenty-nine years and have four children: two daughters and two sons and a grandson.

The ministry of Pastoral Care will encompass training, mentoring, coaching, and counseling.  It seeks to provide care in the areas of marriage, parenting challenges, pornography recovery, addictions, setting boundaries with church and family, seasonal life changes, and grief, just to name a few.

The parallel side of the ministry, Leadership Development, includes church revitalization/advancement, conflict resolution, leadership development seminars, and growing the ministry of the church by providing training in areas such as vision/mission, finances, evangelism/missions, care/fellowship, and public relations.
