Dear Gentlemen,

I know that the Pastoral selection process is a difficult one. You are prayerfully seeking the will of God for your church, knowing that the man you choose to be your pastor will shape your future for years to come.
As you will see in my resume, I am a mature and dedicated servant of God. I am capable of leading your church in growth, both spiritually as well as numerical. My wife and I know what it is to serve the church in all areas. We understand the desires of your members to have that walk with Jesus that truly makes a difference.

My desire as a Pastor is to lead God’s people into His presence, to prepare them for His soon return and to enable them to fulfill their desire to share the Gospel with family, friends and their community. I believe this can only be done through the teaching and preaching of the Word and a strong personal example set by their leaders.

If you need any additional information or further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. We will be available for an interview at your convenience.

Thank you for your time and thoughtful consideration.

Till He Comes,

Rev. C.R. Mayhugh

Ministry Objectives
I believe that God has called me to ministry of leadership. Teaching and equipping God’s people to do the work of His kingdom. I believe that this is done through the three “P’s”

PURPOSE-
If a body of believers is to do all God has called it to do they must be working together with a common and defined purpose. From the Cradle Role class to the Board Room every ministry must have a common purpose. Although it is the leadership’s role to seek God for that purpose it is the Pastor who conveys that purpose to the people.

PASSION-
The second thing a church must have is passion. My passion is for the Lord, the welfare of others, and the lost, as well as passion for the purpose for which they are a church. That passion is imparted to the body as they see the passion in their pastor and leaders lives.

POWER-
Power is the third thing needed in every church to fulfill their purpose and fuel the fire of passion. It is with the preaching and teaching of Pentecost and the time spent at the altars that God’s people will possess the power for life and service.

I believe that it is imperative that God’s People are taught to enter His presence whereby they are strengthened through fellowship with Him. As pastor my objective is to give God’s People the tools to live a life pleasing to God and one able to touch the lives of others through the sharing of the Gospel.

Pastoral Experience
I have held credentials with the Illinois District of the Assemblies since 1989. I was ordained by the General Council in May 1996.

March 2004- Present Winchester Assembly of God: Winchester, IL
Since March of 2004 I have been serving as a bi-vocational Pastor. Serving both as the Pastor of Winchester Assembly as well as working full time as a furnace operator at the local brick yard. The divided time and energies have created many obstacles in accomplishing all that I believe God desired to do through me. Although the church is located in a very small rural community, and little to no opportunity for growth we have been able to accomplish much. We have been very involved in the community and minster to the hurting in our local area. I have worked hard to impart God’s love for people and a vision for the lost that is not limited by the four walls of the church. I am pleased to say that we have faced many challenges and experienced many victories both in the church and in out person life while here in Winchester.

September 2002- January 2004 Dixon Assembly of God: Dixon, IL
In August of 2002 I felt the call of God to take the pastorate of Dixon Assembly. We knew that the church in Dixon was struggling under a very unique set of circumstances. In early May the people had lost their pastor of 16 years to a sudden heart attack. In my interview I could see both grief and love that they had for their former pastor. I knew that the road to recovery would take time but Annette and I felt that it would be worth the struggles to see the church healthy again. After being in ministry in Dixon several months the Lord revealed to us that our ministry in Dixon was to be an interim work. We were to walk them through the grief and prepare them for another. Our ministry in Dixon, though short and often difficult, bore much fruit.

August 1996- September 2002 First Assembly of God: Paris, IL
The first two years of our ministry at First Assembly in Paris we saw growth in almost every area, especially in the area of couples with small children and ministries relating to them. Our focus was then changed to re-ignite the flame of personal Pentecost and to see a greater outreach to the community. God revealed Himself mightily in Paris and much was accomplished through His Word and Spirit. While in Paris I personally learned the value of developing strong leadership within the church, for without it the church cannot go forward.

April 1994-August 1996 New Life Assembly of God: Hoopeston, IL
We pastored New Life for a little over two years. While there we saw great moves of God around the altars. The Spirit moved consistently in all our services. I personally felt the increase of God’s anointing on my ministry while at Hoopeston.

July 1991-April 1994 First Assembly of God: Savanna, IL
We praise God that He used us for His glory in Savanna. God allowed us to experience many blessings both in our church and in our personal lives. We saw several new families enter the church under our ministry. The Sunday School increased from 35 to over 70 every Sunday. The outreach of the church there was greatly expanded. Truly God’s Word was evident in the blessings we saw at Savanna, To God be all the Glory and Praise.

January 1990-July 1991 Assembly of God: Astoria, IL
We enjoyed being used of God in the building of His church in Astoria. With God’s help under our ministry we saw both spiritual and numerical growth. The church went from just 8 people in attendance in out first service to well over 50 on our last Sunday. While in Astoria, we established a thriving children’s ministry, not only on Sundays but also through the building of an outreach to the community with a Missionettes and Royal Rangers program.

1987-1990 Clinton Assembly of God; Clinton , IL
I served as a Christian Worker under the Rev. Billy Bell at Clinton for over 2 years. I learned all aspects of the ministry as well as filling in the pulpit during times of his absence. Pervious to this I ministered in the capacity of Sr Commander and Chaplain of the Royal Rangers as well as teaching Sunday School and ministering in the local nursing home.

Over the past 25 years I have worked in all facets of the church as you can see from the above, I have also had experience in youth ministry and was on the deacon board at the Clinton church.

Spiritual Journey
I was saved in October of 1969. I gave my heart to the Lord as a young boy and have continued in His love and grace. I was filled with the Spirit in January 1981, on that precious day the Lord filled me with the Holy Spirit giving me the power to His might which I had sought. I was called to the ministry in October 1987. After seeking God for a deeper commitment He, on three separate occasions, showed me His call was to full time ministry.

Life Experience
1979-1989 Mueller Company Decatur, IL
I was a machinist for Mueller Co. in Decatur, IL for several years prior to that at Revere Copper and Brass in Clinton, IL. I feel that I have an understanding of what it means to grind out a living in today’s world.

Education
Berean Bible College: Springfield, Mo.
I graduated with the equivalence of a Doctorate.

Personal Experience
I am married and have two children. My wife, Annette, has always been key to not only my life but my ministry. My son, Kyle is 25 yrs old and happily married to my daughter in law Alta. He is a Sports editor in Williston, N. Dakota. My daughter Katybeth is 22 and a newlywed. She and her husband Dan reside in S. California. She is currently in her senior year of Bible College.
