Assemblies of GodThe Assemblies of God, Northern California & Nevada receives frequent requests for opinion and endorsement regarding Bethel Church in Redding; this statement is in response to those queries:
Bethel Church in Redding was affiliated with the Assemblies of God for many years. In 2006 the pastor notified the District that the church had withdrawn from the Assemblies of God. The pastor informed the District that the Lord had instructed them to “Leave your Father’s house.” He also said that it was their desire to “align their accountability with their relationships.” Consequently, the pastor and all other staff resigned their credentials with the Assemblies of God. These resignations were approved “in good standing.” (This means that there were no moral or doctrinal accusations pending at the time that they resigned.) Since 2006 the church has pursued its own ministry without oversight of or accountability to the Assemblies of God.
The NCN District receives many requests to express an opinion about Bethel Church’s current doctrine and practices. However, the NCN District is not able to investigate these, and is not able to express an opinion about them. Therefore, the NCN District is neither able to endorse or recommend the ministry of Bethel Church in Redding, California.
The District Leadership prays God’s guidance and care on the people and leadership of Bethel Church, as they pursue their new direction of ministry.
