Pastor Robert Douglas assumed the position of Director of Pastoral Care and Leadership Development on September 1, 2007. This new ministry role is part of Superintendent Braddy’s Vision 10 for the Northern California and Nevada District Family.
Prior to coming to the District Resource Center, Pastor Robert served seven years pioneering New Horizons Christian Church in Las Vegas. Before this he served on staff at International Church of Las Vegas, a church he pioneered in 1987 and pastored for over five years. He has also served as senior pastor in Turlock, CA, taught at Bethany University, and worked at the General Council headquarters. Robert and Fanita have been married for thirty years and have four grown children, two daughters and two sons, and two grandchildren.
The Leadership Development side of the ministry will include church revitalization/advancement, conflict resolution, leadership development seminars, and growing the ministry of the church by providing training in areas such as vision/mission, finances, evangelism/missions, care/fellowship, and public relations.
The parallel side of the ministry of Pastoral Care will encompass training, mentoring, coaching, and counseling. It will seek to provide care in the areas of marriage, parenting challenges, pornography recovery, addictions, setting boundaries with church and family, seasonal life changes, and grief, just to name a few.
