Brazil, officially known as República Federativa do Brasil, is the beautiful country we will be heading to this year for the Leadership Excursion. Located on the continent of South America, it boasts of population of almost 200,000,000 people. A land of magnificent beaches, vast rain forests and music-fueled cities, Brazil bears an astounding variety of natural and cultural wonders. This is the world’s largest country in the tropics, and the only limit to a journey here is your imagination.  Brazil’s capital city is Brasilia and the official language is Portuguese.  Influenced strongly by the early Portuguese settlers, its is predominantly Roman Catholic in tradition, with 15% being Protestant, and the rest being a mix of other religious and spiritual beliefs.
