The Women's Ministries department recently received a letter from a missionary regarding an emergency need. Money was needed to enable a medical team that was due to leave soon, but who had been unable to raise the necessary funds. This was most important to that particular area, but without the funds to send them, they were unable to go. Because of our Missionary Assistance Fund, we were able to send a check for $500 to help send much needed assistance.

There are many reasons Missionaries need extra assistance - an early return to the field, special needs that arise, a medical emergency, or just extra equipment that doesn’t fit the budget. This fund consists of offerings taken at our events that give the opportunity to bless these missionaries in various ways, such as ....

• A missionary couple was anxious to return to their field of ministry, but they needed to have $2,500 in their budget for household equipment before they would be released to return. They were only $270 short, so we were able to make up the difference from the Missionary Assistance Fund and they were off to take God’s love to a hurting world.

• Medical care is not always available in the remote areas where some of our Missionaries live. These families are equipped with a Medical bag that includes supplies of medications and bandages to allow for first aid and immediate aid in case of illness or injury. The missionaries are then in contact with HealthCare Ministries for help and advice. These bags are tailored to meet the needs of a particular family in a particular area. Two of these medical kits have been purchased for Northern California and Nevada missionaries from this fund!
